I have a PhD in the basic medical sciences and am a freelance writer. I also run my own websites, http://Maeflowers.com and http://AliciaMae.com, and enjoy art and crafts.

A couple of months ago I was told about Squidoo.com. It is a network of webpages, called lenses, made by everyone about everything. Lensmasters create content by using online cues and page building options to teach, to market, to sell, to give their opinion, or to just have fun. There are many networking groups on the site and any lensmaster can start one. I have used Squidoo to spread the word about my craft shops, my hobby groups, and my writing. While directing future customers and clickers to other sites the lenses generate pooled ad revenue and earn partial revenues from referrals. There are also modules to place within lenses that can earn royalties from sites such as Ebay, Amazon, and Cafepress. All in all Squidoo is an interesting marketing tool that should not be overlooked, regardless of your business pursuits. Clink here to find out more.
