Kids of all ages will enjoy playing with this scented and colorful easy-to-make play dough. You will enjoy the fact that it is all natural and fun to make. You can make play dough using any color food coloring and extract. Get creative and have fun! Here are some of the scented and colorful play dough recipes that we like to make.

Peppermint Play Dough

½ cup salt
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon cream of tarter
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup water
Red food coloring (or green works great too!)
Peppermint extract

Combine the ingredients in a saucepan. Heat over low and stir continually. This will take several minutes. When the desired consistency is reached, remove from heat and knead the dough as it cools. Be careful because it will be hot! Keep the play dough sealed in a Ziploc bag. Play dough lasts for a few weeks.

 
Lemon Play Dough

½ cup salt
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon cream of tarter
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup water
Yellow food coloring
Lemon extract

Combine the ingredients in a saucepan. Heat over low and stir continually. This will take several minutes. When the desired consistency is reached, remove from heat and knead the dough as it cools. Be careful because it will be hot! Keep the play dough sealed in a Ziploc bag. Play dough lasts for a few weeks.

 
Cinnamon Play Dough

½ cup salt

Easy Clean Tip:

Use a chunk of the play dough to pick up small little bits and pieces on the table and cookie cutters. The play dough sticks to itself so just grab a blob and use it to collect the smaller pieces.
