Because of my sensitivity to so many medications and my grandmother's influence, I've written here just some of the natural remedies that work for common ailments. None of the "remedies" will require trekking out in the Tanzanian Jungle and finding a particular wild berry extract. This is stuff you probably already have in your cabinets or at least is very easy to get.

Natural remedies for common ailments

Anemia (Low iron)- Cook in a black iron skillet. No kidding. This is what got me through my pregnancy

Appetite suppressant-  You can take 1TB Grapeseed oil in the morning. (put 1TB in glass of cold water) one hour after and one hour before eating and drinking anything other than water. One TB of Canola, Grapeseed, Extra Light Olive oil one hour after and one hour before eating and drinking anything other than water.

Asthma- If you need something fast and your inhaler is not in reach, don’t panic. That will make it worse. However, hot coffee will stabilize it enough for you to get medication or medical attention.

Bloody Noses- Once the bleeding has subsided, use a Q-tip dipped in Vasoline or Neosporin (either one works) and put the stuff up your nose. Then sqeeze your nose like you are holding it and let go. Do this for 2-3 days and the bleeding nose should stop. Humidifier in your room will help, too if it’s because of cold weather.

Cholesterol – High cholesterol- 500-1000mg cinnamon tablets per day

Cold-
  • Zicam
  • Grossman hydropulse nasal irrigator
  • Zinc tablets that dissolve in mouth  (Zinc can make you constipated)
  • Zinc vitamin (Zinc can make you constipated)

Constipated- Take 2 Magnesium tablets

Cystitis (UTI or Urinary Tract infection)- Tea with tannins can help symptoms. Tea works as a good preventive if you are prone to them. Just regular lipton tea made from tea bags with boiling water. The canned stuff isn’t the same as the hot water releases the tannins. Once they are out, they don’t crawl back in so if you ice it later, that works, too.

Diabetes Type II- Cinnamon tablets as they have a positive effect on blood sugar levels. 500mg-1000mg per day. Helps with the late day energy loss.

Immune booster- Garlic Tablets. Two per day.

Stomach ache- Ginger tablets x2

Sleeplessness
  • Melatonin
  • 1.5 TB Extra Light Olive Oil one hour after eating and one hour before bed. You can take 1TB in the morning and 1TB in the evening. But you must adhere to the hour before and hour after for not eating or drinking anything other than water.

Ulcers on the tongue- Gargle with Pepto Bismal and spit out. Take a magnesium to neutralize your system. You can swallow the pepto, too.

Yeast Infection due to antibiotics- Take acidophilus tablets while on the antibiotic and for several days afterwards. Cut back on sugar and yeast products, too. This will prevent one.

Yeast Infection prone- Seriously cut back on yeast and sugar. No bread or any one food item that has move than 15grams sugar.
