Angelina
Jolie is the quintessential Hollywood bombshell that encapsulates what
it is to be gorgeous. She is one of the most photographed women in the
world - and now one of the most tattooed. All of the Angelina Jolie
tattoos have a special meaning to her. Here is the meaning of all of Angelina Jolie's tattoos:
Angelina Jolie got this tattoo in Bangkok, where she spent two hours having the tattoo done. The tattoo was blessed by the tattoo artist (Sompong Kanphai) who chanted an ancient hymn while doing it. Angelina said that she felt that her life had been filled with luck after she received the first tattoo from him.
This tattoo is a design that means "Strength of Will." This tattoo covered up a tattoo she had gotten along with ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton.
A Magical Pali incantation written in Khmer, the native language of Cambodia. She got this tattoo to protect she and Maddox, her son, from bad luck and avoid accidents. It reads:
May your enemies run far away from you.
If you acquire riches, may they remain yours always.
Your beauty will be that of Apsara. (a celestial dancer in Khmer mythology)
Wherever you may go, many will attend, serve and protect you, surrounding you on all sides.
This tattoo of the numeral 13 is to indicate that Angelina Jolie does not believe in superstitions.
Her "know your rights" tattoo is believed to be some type of political statement
Angelina Jolie had "Billy Bob" inked in reference to husband Billy Bob Thornton. After her divorce from him she had it removed by laser. She still has the black dragon.
It is unclear what these two tribal symbols mean.
This tattoo of the letter h is to remind her of former boyfriend Timothy Hutton and brother James Haven.
This black cross has a Latin phrase "Quod me nutrit me destruit" next to it. This phrase means, "What nourishes me, destroys me."
This black dragon tattoo is now covered by the black Latin cross tattoo pictured above. Angelina said that she got this tattoo in Amsterdam while drunk and almost immediately regretted it so she had it covered.
This tattoo is the Japanese symbol for "death". Angelina has stated it inspires her because it makes her live life to the fullest. It is now covered by her Cambodian incantation tattoo.

I don't know how I feel about celebrities having tattoos. She has a lot of them, on camera they manage not to show up so much. It could be freeing for a lot of people, but I don't want tattoos, so yet another excuse is gone. All her tattoos seem to have some meaning, but that is a step over "wearing your heart on your sleeve."
