Alternative Ecomomic Universe
- By Loose Kannon
- Published 05/19/2009
I’m living in an alternate economic universe.
The new housing starts number just came in. Below consensus. Supposedly a bad thing.
It’s ultimately a good thing.
Housing prices went down because there was and is a glut of new, unoccupied houses. If new housing starts do anything but shrink during the next year or two, the glut will remain or increase, and housing prices will continue to sink. Americans will feel even more insecure, and continue to hoard their acorns. Unemployment will continue to rise. The vicious cycle will spin on.
Until the new houses already on the market are sold off, housing prices can’t stabilize and new homes can’t be built without contributing further to the debilitating glut.
I’m aware that home-builders, tradesmen and craftsmen will continue to hurt for a while longer under this scenario. But long term health in the housing market, and steady work for these hardworking folks who were done in by everyone from local mortgage brokers to international banking giants, cannot be restored unless the glut is gone.
A brilliant friend who’s managed mutual fund and hedge fund
money just told me I was correct, but since the market doesn’t see it
that way, being right is not it’s own reward.
What’s happening to the carpenters, electricians, plumbers,
roofers, and their collegues isn’t fair, but only a fool with blinders
on would dwell on that at this point. Hopefully the meek eventually
inherit the earth, but for the time being the pain of withdrawal is the
only thing that will allow the credit junkie called America to resume a
productive life.

- By Tonya B.
- Published 05/6/2009
I have to wonder what took this trend so long to come into play - ? High heel women's gladiator shoes are part of one of the hottest fashion trends ever - and the looks of them are (almost one for one) not only bold, but extremely feminine and not just a little on the "sultry" side. One thing that I'm particularly impressed with (as someone who researches and writes about fashion trends) is that the look of Women's Gladiator Shoes is not overly - or perhaps too obviously seductive - even with their bold look, their message seems to be a bit on the subtler side of the fence compared to many other styles - and is most definitely a flattering look for almost any woman. (Some styles will go better with taller women, while some styles are more flattering to women with less height.)
Here are a few of the styles that I predict will hit some high sales peaks, creating a shortage of stock for merchants:
- Type Z Foley - Extremely high heel (a bit higher than 4"), strappy around the front. A sandal with a gorgeous combination of "Romanesque" meets extreme fashion sense.
- Chinese Laundry Bounty - Now here is a look like I've seen with no other high heel women's gladiator shoes, with a high heel (about 4") with weaving and braiding in and around the vamp of the shoe.
- Nine West Balboa - This is currently (based on my findings) the most popular of the high heel women's gladiator shoes. The look is simpler than with the two styles above, but there is no lack of looks and style. It's also priced a bit more affordably than many other styles, making it more within reach for those ladies on a tighter budget.
Recommended Shopping: The Women's Gladiator Shoes website has a special section just on high heel women's gladiator shoes, making it easy to find the ones given above, as well as immediate access to additional browsing and price shopping.

Silver vs. Antibiotics
But silver kills over 650 disease causing organisms, and it can do so every time. No resistant strains develop with the use of silver. Researchers speculate that this is because silver does not attack the microbe directly like an antibiotic does. It decomposes the enzyme microorganisms rely on to breathe-they can't mutate to counterattack silver's approach.
Another problem with antibiotics is that they kill beneficial enzymes while attacking the bad ones; pharmaceutical antibiotics can't distinguish between good and bad enzymes. This is why the immune system is especially weak after a round of antibiotics, and why yeast infections are much more likely after taking antibiotics.
Silver, however, doesn't destroy beneficial enzymes because they are very different from the enzymes of single-celled life which silver targets. Silver is nontoxic. Also, colloidal silver doesn't interact or interfere with other medicine being, taken.
Finally, antibiotics only affect bacteria. Silver disables bacteria, viruses, fungi, and all other disease causing organisms.
Swine flu - the Fear Epidemic
- By Arlene Florian
- Published 05/4/2009
Prior to this past, decade of insanity, governments and the media seemed to be so much more responsible conservative - when faced with potential pandemics and epidemics - than they are now. The object was always to avoid alarming people wherever feasible. Nowadays, governments and the mainstream media seem to go out of their way to whip up public fear to fever pitch and beyond.
Why do they do this? Who are the winners of this hype-fest?
Around the globe:
governments stocked up with anti-virals and flu vaccines to the tune of billions of pounds, courtesy of taxpayers;
pharmacies and hospitals stocked up with face masks (which provide limited protection, so are practically useless);
pharma and biotech corporations' share prices rocketed – such as GlaxoSmithKline, Gilead Sciences, Roche, Novavac, Biocryst, 3M (producers of Tamiflu, Relenza and face masks, etc.);
media empires sold more newspapers and advertising and boosted their ratings;
governments collected sales tax on all these items and will doubtless collect extra taxes on ensuing profits.
The losers were the Mexicans, pork product manufacturers and taxpayers around the world. The peso fell, the Mexican iShares market was down by 8%, its airports and transport systems were hammered, food manufacturers’ share prices were down by 10% and the Mexican economy has lost millions for each day of this ‘epidemic of fear’. Some forecasters put the total cost of this scare in the trillions of dollars, taking all its inevitable ripple effects into account.
According to Dr. Brian Currie, Vice President and Medical Director at Montefiore Medical Center (New York), seasonal flu kills around 36,000 people per year in America alone. Worldwide, regular flu kills between one 2,500,000 and 5,000,000 people each year. The rate of infection of swine flu is nowhere near that of regular flu; it has killed a fraction of that number and not all were not brimming with health before they contracted it.
The only possible credible cause for concern is that the swine flu strain found in America was far weaker than that found in Mexico. According to early reports, the Mexican casualties might have suffered greater impact due to genetic qualities specific to Mexicans, since the victims were relatively young and healthy.
If the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) were concerned about a more virulent strain migrating into America, why did it expressly choose not to close the borders, stating that it was “already too late”? Why did it then suggest that people might have to be quarantined to stop the virus spreading further? These two stances are contradictory. Was it too late to stop the contagion, or wasn’t it?
After a week of media and government frenzy, we now discover that the contagion rate is nothing like the potential rate that had been mooted by the DHS.
So we come full circle. Here we are, mired in a worldwide depression which could rival that of the 1930s, commodity sales, stocks, pension funds and tax receipts all horribly depressed. Miraculously, along comes this almighty scare which boosts the sorry coffers of corporations and governments alike.
Call me cynical, but when we are faced with a serious pandemic in the future, who will take heed of those who cry “wolf!”?
How Much Money Can You Make With Bukisa?
- By Melody Rhodes
- Published 05/3/2009
By now, most people have heard about Bukisa. You may be wondering how much money you can make with Bukisa.First of all, if you haven't yet joined, it's helpful to gain an understanding of why Bukisa shows such promise as a higher paying site.
Bukisa is a place where writers and Web content producers write about topics they want to share and they then earn from their pages. Additionally, Bukisa allows for even greater earnings from others who join the network. If you join Bukisa, you basically earn from four revenue streams, you make money on your own content and earn on the content of those in your network, down to three levels deep.
How Much Money Can You Make With Bukisa?
Bukisa offers the highest payout, which is based on the Bukisa Index. This index pays writers according to unique page views. For every 1000 views, writers receive the equivalent of the current Bukisa Index. To put this in real terms: if the Bukisa Index is 4.00 you are paid $4.00 USD for unique views your content receives. The Bukisa Index is adjusted frequently, based on the performance of the site's revenue streams. What this means for writers is that Bukisa offers a plumb payment rate.
For those who can create well written pages, Bukisa offers a solid revenue sharing opportunity. How much money can you make with Bukisa? If you create content on a regular basis, your Bukisa earning potential is unlimited.
I thought I would wait to see what kind of feedback I received regarding Bukisa. My writing schedule is full so I have to think long and hard before joining anything these days. I heard from a number of writers who were excited at the amount of money they'd made with Bukisa. Thus encouraged, I decided to join Bukisa. and I'm glad I did. In less than one week I've seen Bukisa earnings come in. I plan to submit articles regularly and, for those who join my network, I will work to promote their work, as well.
For those who wonder how much money you can make with Bukisa, I answer: consider what you are getting paid via other revenue sharing sites and compare that amount to what you would get paid with Bukisa. Simply visit the Bukisa site to check it out or join Bukisa immediately and get started submitting short articles. If I see you've joined my network, I will add you as a friend.
This opportunity gets 3 thumbs up. Visit Write and Earn a Living for updates about Bukisa.
For those who desire to learn about keywords, I've started an article series at Bukisa. You can see what a Bukisa article looks like and learn about keywords at the same time.

State Book Award
- By Brenda Young
- Published 05/3/2009
Every state has a children's choice book award. Find out the titles of the current year's nominees and familiarize yourself with them. When students visit the library during the first few weeks, introduce the books to them by showing each book and giving a brief synopsis (without giving away the story, of course!). Read the books during library over the next several week (picture book nominees) and have the students vote after they have heard the stories. For chapter book nominees, you may be able to read 1 or 2 in the library if your schedule permits. Find out how many books students must read in order to vote and then promote the books so students will get started on them right away. If possible, get multiple copies of each title as these books take longer to read.
When it is time to vote, I have a voting party for intermediate students. Only students who have read the minimum number of books are allowed to attend the voting party. When they come in, they cast their ballot first (I have a ballot box into which they place their ballots when finished voting). I also give them a "I Voted" sticker that we made on the computer. We have refreshments for them and then I have a trivia contest with questions from the various books. Prizes for answering the questions include the books themselves, as well as pencils, notepads, balloons, etc.
It is fun to watch the students get excited about voting for books and I always stress to them that this is special because only kids get to vote for this award! Enjoy!
Curriculum for Elementary Library
- By Brenda Young
- Published 05/3/2009
OK - so you have the job and you've gone over the tips in my first post. What now? What should you teach? It will vary from school to school, of course, but, below I've listed an overview of what I cover at each grade level:
Kindergarten - book care, how to use shelf markers, how to look for books, nursery rhymes, various authors for this age group (Eric Carle, Bill Martin Jr., Laura Numeroff, Dr. Seuss, etc.)
First Grade - how to find a "just right" book using the 5 finger rule, difference between fiction and nonfiction, how to read spine labels to differentiate between Easy, Fiction, and Nonfiction, fairy tales
Second Grade - reinforce 5 finger rule, letter writing, Caldecott Award, using library catalog to look up books, find Easy and Fiction books in catalog and then locate them on the shelf
Third Grade - basic introduction to Dewey, find Nonfiction books in the catalog and then locate them on the shelf, almanac skills, basic research using online or print encyclopedias
Fourth Grade - Newbery Award, review using catalog and looking up Easy, Fiction, and Nonfiction books, introduce research skills, outlining, bibliography, research projects to correlate with classroom curriculum
Fifth Grade - review using catalog and looking up Easy, Fiction, and Nonfiction books, also review research skills, outlining, bibliography, research projects to correlate with classroom curriculum
Sixth Grade - review using catalog and looking up Easy, Fiction, and Nonfiction books, also review research skills, outlining, bibliography, research projects to correlate with classroom curriculum
I hope this is helpful. Later, I will post specific projects that I do with students at various grade levels. Have fun!
So you have a school library job, now what?
- By Brenda Young
- Published 05/3/2009
Congratulations! You
will be starting your new career as a school librarian for the 2009-10
school year! Chances are, you are excited but nervous and unsure at
the same time. I've been there and I feel your pain! One of my
biggest problems when I started was lack of any kind of curriculum.
Nobody told me what needed to be covered at the various grade levels
nor what students had already learned. There was a lot of trial and
error so I hope this will help you avoid some of that confusion at the
beginning of the year.First, and I feel most importantly, get to know the teachers in your building. Eat lunch with them and, when the opportunity arises, find out what they are teaching in their classrooms. Make yourself available as a resource for them and tie in your lessons to their curriculum whenever possible. Offer to collaborate whenever possible as well. Usually younger/newer teachers are more open to collaborating and working with you. Find a couple of teachers who are open and willing to work with you and start there. Word will eventually get out and others will start asking to work with you too.
Second, find out what was taught previously. You might find this out by asking a library assistant (if you are lucky enough to have one), the classroom teachers, fellow librarians in your district, your predecessor, or the students. That will give you a starting point. That will also help you know what to teach to other grades. For example, if the 3rd graders tell you that they learned about the Caldecott Award in 2nd grade, you know what is typically covered in 2nd grade in that school.
Next, if possible, get long-term plans from teachers. Find out general information that they will be covering throughout the year. It will help you in your planning. Try to incorporate research projects around these topics.
Finally, join a school librarians' listserv. LM_NET is a great one but there are probably other options out there as well. We are usually the only librarian in our school and it tends to lead to isolation. Subscribing to a listserv helps keep you in touch with others in the trenches, even if they are on the other side of the country/world!
Throughout the year, you will also want to keep your principal informed on what is going on in the library. Share circulation statistics as well as how many students and teachers are using the library each day. Keep track of what you do each day as administrators often have no idea what we do. Many principals, teachers, and parents honestly think we sit around and read books all day long! Wouldn't that be heaven, if it were true?! Document your daily activities and share with your principal in writing or, preferably, in a conference from time to time. It will help justify why the school needs you. In this day of cutting school librarians, administrators (and school boards) need to know how much we really help the students.
Good luck!
I may change how printnpost works....what do you think?
- By O2SMedia .com
- Published 05/1/2009
I am considering changing how the site works. I may offer a upfront per article payout and a affiliate program for recruiting authors. I believe this may result in a better overall payout to authors. Many authors dont seem to understand the full concept of adsense but are willing to make money online. So to provide the mass with a better payout I have been pondering on this for some time. Teva Women's Terra Fi - Ultimate "Adventure" Footwear for Women
- By Tonya B.
- Published 04/29/2009
The Teva Women's Terra Fi sandal isn't just another sandal - not by a long shot. In fact the Teva Women's Terra Fi is made with "adventure" in mind, and is the perfect sandal for women who live for riding the rapids, hiking mountain trails and general outdoor athletic and adventurous activities.Teva has made this sandal so that it will distribute your body weight evenly - and it even helps to prevent injuries to the foot area with this feature.
Plus - the Terra Fi has a classic Teva look that so many people are fond of (including myself) with the straps that ride along the outside of the foot and wrap themselves around the front of the foot and the ankle. Straps are adjustable for a perfect fit.
As a note - if you're in the market for a perfect "kick around" shoe for spring and/or summer, these might also be right up your alley due to their spiffy but casual look and their extreme comfort for all day wear.
Shopping? Due to the fact that the Teva Women's Terra Fi is one of the most popular sandals, there are quite a number of online shops that carry them - this is both a blessing and a curse because it makes the question "where is the best place to buy them?" a bit difficult to answer.
There is an online resource that "pulls" all the best merchants together for the Terra Fi for Women and puts them into one place so you can take a good look for yourself:

Stress Test Joke Continued: The Joke’s On Us
- By Loose Kannon

The Treasury, still understaffed, is being manned by kids
with crayons and coloring books whose homework is clearly above their
pay grades.
The first piece of evidence supporting the above arrived
this morning when Bank of America and Citigroup were informed that
they’d have to raise additional capital
and reserves in order to comply with the guidelines set forth,
guidelines far less rigorous than would be required to insure a stable
financial system.
Geithner, who made the stress test rather unstressful for his pals on the street (Wall, not Main), seems more of a mini-Paulson than a fresh face for change. While I understand that Obama wanted to preserve some continuity in his selection of a Treasury Secretary, he may well have done so at the expense of preserving the old boy network and their “heads I win, tails you lose” mentality.
They’re about to profit handsomely by, in effect, repurchasing the toxic assets they themselves created, which precipitated this money mess, for pennies on the dollar, with their risk backstopped by the government, AKA you and me, the taxpayers. We’re getting robbed, and then paying for the thieves’ defense.
It’s as if there’s a fourth branch of government,
unencumbered by the checks and balances that the other three branches
have to abide by. Let’s call it the rogue financial branch.
There’s got to be a Jack Bauer CPA type out there somewhere.

Teva Women's Toachi | Open Toachi Sandals
- By Tonya B.
- Published 04/27/2009
If you're gearing up for adventure this year, you might be looking for the perfect pair of shoes that can handle a lot of different environmental and physically stressful conditions - the Teva Women's Toachi (or Open Toachi) might be right up your alley. If you don't already have the full info on the Teva Women's Toachi - it's from the Teva "Pro" series - it's not only built to wear comfortably and be useful in outdoor adventure activities, it also resists debris and also is designed to dry quickly so it can slide easily from river rafting to trail hiking without a hitch.A pretty high tech shoe!
The Toachi provides more "over the front of the foot" protection, while the Open Toachi allows for more room to move and "breathe" if you will - under some circumstances this might be a more appropriate shoe than the original Toachi.
It's also available in some pretty happenin' colors this year!
Shopping Information: What seems to happen with the prices and merchants with the Teva Women's Toachi is that various merchants offer markdowns in individual colors - so my best tip on shopping is to check multiple merchants, because you can very likely get the a great deal on the exact pair you want. A fast and easy way to check multiple merchants is to find a single resource that has the best merchants on one page - so finding the pair you want is fast and easy - there is a special web page that can help you:
- Teva Women's Toachi page on the Teva Women's Sandal Collection website.

The Relationship Company launches local dating service in Kansas KS
- By Cameron Sharpe

I am Cameron Sharpe, CEO of TheRelationshipCompany.com. We have a passion for helping others. We work hard, we play hard and we love helping single adults fall in love. Making some kind of a difference in all that we do is what this company of purpose is all about. And the idea of helping single adults meet and fall in love is what makes us so passionate about what we do.
Recently, The Relationship Company CEO Cameron Sharpe and Member Success head Amanda Bennett, sat down with their Kansas Singles staff to answer some of the more frequently asked questions about the dating service and its place in the industry.
The reception we received in Kansas exceeded my expectations by a long shot, said a surprised Sharpe. A lot of the success has to do solely with the people we hired to run our office. They are exceptional individuals who not only take the time to listen to our clients, they take a personnel interest in their social lives as well.
Recently, two members of Kansas Singles announced their engagement. It was a thrilling moment for the Kansas office, says Sharpe.
TheRelationshipCompany.com' Kansas member success team was instrumental in getting these two lost souls together, said Sharpe. They met at one of our social events, hit it off, and were constant companions after that. The girls were thrilled to get the phone call announcing the engagement, and were especially pleased they were singled out for their role in bringing the two together.
When asked how TheRelationshipCompany.com is stands out in the now crowded dating industry, he had the following to add:
Therelationshipcompany.com brings single men and women together in a safe online environment providing the ability to meet quality Single men and women for friendship, fun, dating and companionship. The Relationship Company performs extensive back ground checks on all of its members to make sure they do not have a criminal record or any violent felonies to their name. We also take their pictures ourselves and create their profiles to ensure their profiles are accurate.
Therelationshipcompany.com is the first company ever to launch a Click and Mortar business model giving its members online access to its database of single men and women and the added personal touch of offering counselor staffed member center locations for its Platinum members. The Relationship Company plans local events for their members ranging from Bowling, Rafting to Wine Tasting and Volunteer work together. Plus Size Women And Fashion
- By Lisa McDowell
- Published 04/25/2009
The plus size woman has long been a second-class citizen in the world of fashion. Department stores rarely have a good selection of clothing for women who wear larger sizes. It is hard to understand why this is so, when over half of American women are considered plus size.
In order to counter the less than stellar options for women in stores throughout the nation, many plus-sized women have turned to shopping online for their clothing needs. Online women are able to access current styles and reasonably priced items in the plus size area. Retailers such as Lane Bryant, Woman Within, Silhouettes and others, offer nicely styled clothing for the plus-sized woman. For the thrifty minded, many items are offered at sale prices. There is so much more variety offered online for plus size women as opposed to brick and mortar stores, that many larger women shop almost exclusively over the internet for their clothing.
Many new websites have been developed catering to the fashion-conscious plus size woman. One such site is bbsize.com which features current fashions for the plus size woman. It offers selections from many different manufacturers. It is as if the "leg work" of sifting through various sites has been already done. Style and value seem to be of the utmost importance on this site. Everything from swimming suits to winter coats are available. A woman could find anything she might need for her wardrobe on this site. In addition, helpful fashion tips are included in the reviews of the clothing.
For an often times overlooked segment of society, sites such as bbsize.com are a true godsend. The convenience of online shopping is coupled with really wonderful clothing options. Many plus size women are self-conscious about shopping in department stores where they can often times feel over-looked and neglected. Shopping from the comfort of home, and being able to find truly fashionable items, makes the whole experience so much more pleasant. Many women (not only plus size) find shopping for swim suits to be a traumatic experience. By shopping online, a woman is able to find exactly the right type of suit for her body type and not go through the nightmare of trying on suits in a cramped fitting room.
Overall, online clothes shopping is a truly fun experience, especially for the plus size woman. Convenience coupled with the variety offered online makes the shopping experience so much more rewarding.
Women's Teva Olowahu - Reviews | Best Shopping

I've been doing a lot of study into the Teva Women's Sandal Collection recently, and the Women's Teva Olowahu is one of my strong favorites this year. It's not only one of my favorites - it's actually one of the hottest sellers in the entire Teva line for a number of reasons. The look of the Women's Teva Olowahu is quite unique. It features a "crossover" design that sets it apart from other styles of flip flops (or "thong" sandals) and it has some lovely designs and colors to choose from - a very nice selection.
But what really tells the story of this lovely sandal for women are the reviews submitted by the consumers. I don't believe I've seen so many "rave" reviews - all quite positive (with the exception of one woman who received a defective pair and needed to return them - but the return was free). Another thing that I thought was amazing was the number of reviews submitted! It takes a strong liking of a product to even want to submit a review and there were at least twenty given by women who absolutely loved them.
Best Shopping for the Women's Teva Olowahu:
There is a resource that you should check out online - it's not an official website or a direct merchant, but was created by someone who sought out the very best merchants that are offering the best prices - along with free overnight shipping and returns:

Happy shopping! =)

Office Depot - I used to love you
- By Marlo Marie

The love
I exclusively bought all of my office products, printer ink, paper, etc. from Office Depot at the local store location. I thought the store was fantastic, and loved their coupons they sent me. My last purchase at an Office Depot store would be my last forever…they just closed the store. I bought some Office Depot brand printer ink for around $50.00.
Recently, I have had a horrible customer service experience with Office Depot. I used to love the company.
Bad Customer Service
When I went to use the ink, it was all dried out. Since the store closed, I called the 800 number (1.800.GO.DEPOT ) customer service to request a new printer cartridge. I kindly asked that Office Depot send me a new printer cartridge along with a postage paid envelope to send the dried out ink back, or refund my credit card. Customer service explained that the website, http://www.officedepot.com, was a separate entity from the store, but customer service would notate my request, escalate it to the supervisor (who was out), and process a credit on my credit card the next business day.
I received an email from Office Depot customer service stating that they could not process a refund (after stating they would), so I called back. This time, I was told to call the Executive Office at (561) 438-4800. Office Depot Executive Office asked me to explain my situation and I told them to reference the email they sent me, first approving the credit, then denying it. The Executive Office could not find the case, so I had to explain my situation … again. This time, they said it would take a few days, and they never got back to me.
Out of luck?
Is everyone out to take consumers money? I work so hard, spend my money wisely, and hate to feel ripped off by anyone or any company.
So, as I sit here unable to print using my dried out cartridge, I wonder whatever happen to Office Depot’s customer service and why Office Depot could not refund my $50.00.
Is this any indication of why the stores are closing?
Buyer beware.

THE ALMOST FORGOTTEN HEROES
- By Tomas San Jose

Mr. Hartley, was held in high esteem by all who knew him as a man of great presence of mind. He was the band master - leader of the orchestra - which was integrated by seven musicians.
John Hume, a violinist, was a young, light hearted but ambitious
Scot who planned to be married after his return to England.
Taylor, pianist; Woodward, a cellist, Fred Clak, bass viol player
(an instrument you don't see any more) Breicoux, Brailey
and Krins.
It was the custom of the times among the musicians to refer to all lively pieces as "rag time". That night, they probably started with the liveliest airs they knew, changing to a hymn associated with a tune named "Autumn": "Hold me up in mighty waters, Keep my eye on things above." when the end seemed near.
It is a privilege to know the names of the musicians aboard the
"Titanic" on that fateful night in which their courageous service
was no doubt effective in cheering the spirits of their fellows in
disaster to meet their fate with a noble mind and heart.
Their music was heard by passengers in life boats until the ship
broke in two and went under the frigid waters.
A group of valiant heroes we shall always remember in awe and
admiration. God bless their souls!

Women's Teva Mush - New Look, Shopping Tips
- By Tonya B.
- Published 04/18/2009
What's the ideal women's flip-flop sandal? Well - when I stop to think about it, it would be a sandal that didn't cut in between the toes, comfortable enough to wear all day - and it would look great for practically any casual ensemble. If you're looking for such a flip-flop sandal I would definitely recommend the Women's Teva Mush.
For 2009 you may notice a new look in the Women's Teva Mush lineup - the "Braided Mush". With this sandal, the "V" upper is a braided material, a couple of the colors (brown and blue) have different shades to set off the style. (There is also a black shade available.) In the past couple of years the Mush has been absolutely the hottest-selling flip flop in the Teva collection - I think that the Braided Mush may be the most popular in 2009 due to it's sort of fun and funky style.
In the Teva Mush collection for women, you will still find the "W" Mush as well as the Leather Mush - which were both popular styles last year (2008) - they're not going anywhere and between these two there are some very versatile color combinations to choose from.
Pricing information - Any of the shoes from the Women's Teva Mush collection are priced quite reasonably. The "W" Mush is priced at around $26.00, the Leather Mush is around $32.00 and the new Braided Mush will cost about $27.00. These are not prices that will likely break a budget - and they're retail prices - so it's quite possible to find them for less online (especially during specific times of the year when the demand is lower).
Shopping Tips: Buying the Women's Teva Mush online is definitely the way to go. There are a number of resources to choose from, some of which offer free shipping and return options - along with a low price guarantee. You can find all the best resources in one place here:

Teva Women's Sandal Collection 2009
- By Tonya B.
- Published 04/18/2009
Ladies - if you're looking into purchasing some summer footwear from the Teva Women's Sandal Collection - and if you haven't already taken a good look at what's available, you have a pleasant surprise in store.
Teva has become one of the most loved brands of footwear by women, but now they have done a bit of "stretching" in terms of what they are creating in their ladies' footwear lineup. There are not only the better-known Teva shoes with the traditional look, but there are some very feminine and unique styles in 2009 that you might want to give a check to - before making a purchase decision.
For example, one of the newest styles is called the "Devi". When you first look at it, you might never believe that it was created by Teva - it's an ankle wrap sandle with thin and feminine straps and is based on a design of footwear from the Himalayas - it definitely sets itself apart from the rest of the collection. If you're looking for a very feminine (and comfortable) shoe to go with almost anything, I highly recommend this one.
Another specific shoe to mention is the Teva Mush sandal. Even though the Mush for women is not a new product or concept, Teva has expanded this product line to include a new look, the "Braided Mush" which is not only comfortable but the new look is great.
If you're like me, you might just practically "live in Tevas" in the summer time - if you haven't taken a look at the current Teva Women's Sandal Collection for this year, I highly recommend that you do so - you're in for a real treat!
Shopping Info: Whether you've got your heart set on a traditional style from the Teva Women's Sandal collection - or if you would like to check out something new, there's a website that I highly recommend - it has a number of merchants (all of which provide free shipping and returns service - as well as competitive pricing) for both traditional and new styles - all Teva Women's Sandals:
This site could save you a lot of time - money too!

The End of a Job.

I've been through this before. It's nothing new. I have cried in the past, but not now. I was let go for two reasons. One I am a temp and two I wouldn't last there anyway. All the other people in the payroll department have two more weeks left of their jobs.I understand that job means money to pay the bills. But what is the point in having a job nowadays when you are going to get laid off, quit or get fired anyways.
The longest job that I've ever had lasted two years. This last job lasted six months. I didn't cry today. However, I am experiencing boredom.
I have plans to look for employment online first and to wait and see if my temp agent has another job lined up for me. I have a class at the end of next month where I am going to get my Certificate and be in the Holistic Medicine field.
Boy I am bored.
Women's Teva Dozer and Dozer 2 for 2009
- By Tonya B.
- Published 04/15/2009
The Women's Teva Dozer and Dozer 2 are just as popular and moreso than they were last year. The word has spread about these shoes - many people swear by them for everyday use - including folks who have trouble wearing regular shoes, people who's feet hurt them regularly - and of course the people who may love them the most are those with active lifestyles that have trail hiking, river rafting and more on their regular agenda. There may be no better footwear out there than the Teva Dozer for Women - and even though us "mountain women" adore them for their functionality under any conditions, they are also becoming a real favorite for people who just like to take a walk down the street every day.
Retail price for them runs between $65 and $70 per pair - and there are also a few choice places online where they can be found for lower prices - along with free overnight shipping and free returns service. A good place to check out online is the Women's Teva Dozer page on the Teva Women's Sandal Collection website - it lists out the best merchants and the best deals, so you can take a look for yourself from one place.

Operating a Business in Tough Times

There is still opportunity out there in the business world. You may not get rich in these tough economic times but you can make a living. You just have to be savvy. Everything is negotiable now, even your rent and mortgage. Negotiate everything to make your business grow. Many new businesses will pop up this year as many who are laid off and out of work will rethink their careers and start their own business. I don't suggest any one who is serious about a business and giving great customer service use a drop shipper unless you are planning to buy in bulk and then shipping the product yourself. I have had bad experiences with drop-shippers from their items not being what was advertised to taking weeks to ship to products being on back order. I have tried selling on EBAY but everything is so competitive its not easy making a large profit unless you know antiques and go to yard sales to get good deals from people who may not know what they have. This requires a lot of time and effort along with some money. Also in this economy it may be hard to get credit unless you have a flawless credit score. I am not trying to discourage anyone, I just want people to know what they are up against in these trying times and not get themselves in the same boat I am in. I still have a job for now but things will get us sooner or later. I have tried these businesses to help make ends meet due to a son in college and another who is unemployed. Its a big burden on my wife and I when we have to pay our kids bills and to keep a roof over our heads. We all need some help and have no idea where it will come from at this point in time. Also one other note, scams are rampant on the internet and for every 50+ businesses offered only 1 is legitimate. Please be careful when starting a new business and please don't fall into the scams of the Nigerians who say we have inherited millions and send us email from the FBI. Some loan modification lawyers are also scams. Its a dog eat dog world!! More on Southeast Alaskan Fashion Secrets

A recent comment posted on my article, How to Dress Like A Southeast Alaskan has prompted me to update it.
A reader wrote: "Even with all the description, not clear which Woolrich coat you are talking about. A picture would help! eg. which of these?"
Following the commentor's link, I found the same set of Woolrich products that I had seen when I first wrote the article, and went looking for the real name of the garment we call the halibut jacket. This time, though, I paid a bit more attention, and found that our halibut jacket is actually the Woolrich Stag Shirt, although I've never seen one in the plaids offered here. Apparently, Woolrich has been making them for around 100 years.
So, there's the rest of that story. And, as requested, a photo of prime Southeast Alaska fashion!

Ed Hardy Double Sleeve for Women - Favorite Styles, Shopping Tip
- By Tonya B.
- Published 04/11/2009
The Ed Hardy Double Sleeve for Women is one of the most loved long-sleeve shirts in the Ed Hardy line for the ladies. This is a "sleeve below a sleeve" look that is very in style - and it's absolutely gorgeous. If you're familiar with the "tattoo sleeve" look, this is very similar but without the sheerness - it's a great cool weather shirt and can really set off a figure!
The favorite style this year for the Ed Hardy Double Sleeve for Women is the "Siren" - defined as a woman who lives in the water and lures sailors only to cause them some serious trouble. This style is also known as the "Water Fairy" in some circles. It's a gorgeous print with a siren on the front of the shirt - with the famous Ed Hardy detailing and signature.
Shopping Tip: If you're on the lookout for this gorgeous shirt, and if you would like to find it for a great deal, I have a suggestion:
This special page on Squidoo lists out a number of resources for the Double Sleeve for Women - you can get a good look at the various colors and prints available and find out "who's selling it for what price" - you'll love the prices you see - at least I know that I do! :)
I forgot to add another one.

This is me. I told you that I will not be consistant with my blogs. However, I did manage to write down what had happened to me this past Tuesday in a journal entry. Here it goes.
When I was at work, I got a voicemail message asking if I can go to a Speeddating event for free. I answered the call during lunch. One small problem was in order for me to confirm it, I had to have a credit card, which I don't. So they had to take my word for it.
Anyway after work, I was trying to avoid spending money to eat. The reason why is because I know that the event was happening in a bar and there will be snacks too. I ended up visiting a friend who owns a Haute Couture store. I haven't visited him in a while because I am afraid that if I go there, I would have to buy something. But I can't because I don't want to spend money on a $400 dress. Anyway, he had some gay magazines hanging around. One of them had RuPaul on the cover. We ended up talking about RuPaul's Drag Race and I found out that my friend knows Nina Flowers.
I then went to the back to cash a cheque. Then I thought that I would visit another friend who owns <a href="http://www.thewitcheryonline.com">The Witchery</a>. But it looked like either she was out of business or looking for yet another place to set up shop.
So I went to the downtown core because I forgot that I had to buy some tampons. After that, I did some more walking before 7:30 and I was still hungry.
I wasn't expecting much from Speeddating, since this was my third time. I hadn't had much luck with it either. The next day though, I found out that I did match with a guy who love animals (He also mentioned that he is allergic to cats a first meeting, then he gets used to them). Now my intuition is telling me that he might be way too busy to set up another date with me.
Now I am waiting on a potential date from <a href="http://www.match.com">Match.com</a>. He responded to my profile and I glanced at his and saw that he definitely wants kids, and there was no mention of dogs in the pets section. Just birds, cats, and something else that I cannot remember. Plus he's close to my age too.

Why are men so complicated. We were more than friends at one time, but we are still attracted to each other, but it is not the same as it was. Seeking a family woman who has survived breast cancer

| Hi, everyone. I have a very specific request for a publication called LITTLE PINK BOOK. It's sponsored by a bunch of big brands, and it's distributed to Bloomingdale's customers as well as in their stores. It's a once-a-year thing and the focus is breast cancer research. We're planning an inspirational profile of a woman who has survived breast cancer, and we want to include her family in the mix--so it's briefly her story, and then a big focus on how this disease affects her husband, children, mother, sibling, etc. The far reaching affects of breast cancer on the family is what they're after. I'm seeking a woman in her 30s/40s/50s, with kids, who’s come through her battle with breast cancer. We'll talk to her, as well as her family members, about how this disease affects people's lives and how important research is. Bonus if she's a Bloomingdale's fan/customer. Please let me know if you have any leads. Many thanks, Melissa melissacwalker.com twitter.com/melissacwalker iheartdaily.com readergirlz.com |
First Blog
- By Midnight Starr
- Published 04/7/2009
Hello Everyone,
I don't know what to say on yet another blog. I have lots of websites, where two of them have blogs. I know that I am going to add one more. Not this one.
I guess that I am going to write about all the websites that I own. I'll start with the two most successful ones first.
I am a poet who has her own poetry network called Midnight's Poetry Muse. It's a very friendly network of poets who post and critique poems. We also post other stuff too. You just have to click on the link to find out.
The second one is a podcast. It's called Midnight's Muse and it is almost like the Network website. Please listen to the podcast, and if you are a poet with an MP3, listen to the podcast to learn how to submit that. The link is also mentioned again on this blog.
I have two affiliated Dating Sites that I need singles to join. I know that there are millions of dating sites out there. But my advice is to join as many as you can and afford. One of my dating sites is Marriage-Minded Wealthy Luv. The site is self explanatory. And the other is Free Wealthy Love, which the only thing that you pay for is the date (Yes, it's a free dating site). And I am also on other sites that don't have just millionaires on them. That's just to let everyone know.
I have another Dating Site that is free. And this one is a Network one. I only have three people that joined and I want to get this site to the point where it is going to be like both Facebook and Meetup.com. Yes, I want it as a social networking site to the point where I want groups of singles from each city doing something. This dating site is called The Dating Network. And by the way, I do have a blog on this site too. So some of the blogs that will be on here will be on the Dating Network and my other Social Network as well.
Loner's Club is both for married and single people who feel alone. But I don't want this network to be a downer. I want some positive input as well.
The last one that I am thinking about creating is more to do with me wanting to be a Data Entry Virtual Assistant. It's not up yet, because I want to see other VA websites to see what I can put on mine. I want this one up, hopefully, by the end of next week.
My current job is going to end next week. I am a Data Entry Temp for a major company that is not immuned to the current economy. Now I am with a Third Person Agency, so I might find another job after this one. But I am more concerned for the people that I work for. Their job is going to end at the end of April. All the administrative jobs are moving to Ontario in this company.
Other than, that please read and join any or all of these sites.

I use that for posting my latest writings to my personal profile and the profile that fits the site where the article has been published. You can also earn money through Adsense; an ad is placed on the bar that shows up on top of the page when people click on your shortened URLs. You can also keep track on how many people have clicked on links you have posted. One thing I really like about the site is that you can schedule your tweets to go out on a specific time or date.
HootSuite really increases the usability of Tweeter and makes it a very helpful tool.

So far I'm only following about 100 people. I am quickly becoming addicted. I don't twit my mundane existence, usually. I usually twit when I have written a new article or when I am re-tweeting links. I have been known to post some random photographs. I also enjoy following some of the celebrities like Stephen Fry, Russell Brand, Rachel Maddow, Kevin Pollak, and LeVar Burton.
Awakening to Evolve

Who am I? The answer to this question lies with the understanding of who you are not. We have a tendency to think that we must label ourselves as being one way or another. The truth is who we are has nothing to do with the words we use to describe ourselves. From the day we are born, we are given a label. This label is our name that follows us for the rest of our life. As we get older, we begin to form an identity that is attached to our name. An image of who we think we are begins to develop as we begin to attach ourselves to memories, experiences, and who we think we want to be. When we are asked to describe who we are, we describe our mental image of ourselves to others. Who I am, can not be boiled down to the thoughts or mental images that we have of ourselves. They are just thoughts, nothing more. When we label something, or better yet when we label ourselves, we put ourselves in a box. We limit ourselves. We allow a label or word to define who we are. We are so much more than a label. Humans are exceptional beings. When we use a word to describe something, it takes away from it. Once something is labeled, we no longer have a need to wonder what it is. We no longer have a need to discover its true reality or beauty. It becomes just the word we used to label it.
Think about it. What is the first thing you do when you see something in nature. In your mind you say to yourself, "Oh, look a butterfly." Now that you identified it with a word, you no longer have a need to look at it again. It is experienced for a brief moment, then dismissed to another thought you have in your mind about something else. Now let's say you have never experienced a butterfly before. You don't know what to call it, because you never seen or heard of a butterfly before. You have no previous experience of it to compare it to, so you are in complete awe of it. You look it's beautiful colors, its wings fluttering, the dance it does above a beautiful colorful flower.
We as humans have placed all that we have come into contact into a nice little box. That we tuck away in the memory banks of our mind. We have conceptualized everything to the point that we no longer have desire to experience true reality. We have labeled everything, and in doing so, we have cut ourselves off from truly living life to its fullest.
We live our daily lives locked in the thoughts of our mind. We have literally become slaves to our thoughts. Trapped in our minds. We are constantly thinking. Thinking about what happened to us yesterday. Thinking about what we are going to do tomorrow. Thinking about what someone did to us. Thinking about what we said to someone else. Constantly thinking thoughts of negativity, of anger, of hurt. Our minds are always preoccupied. From the moment we open our eyes in the morning, to the time we drift off to sleep, we are always lost in thought. This is the human condition. What we all need to realize is, what we are doing to ourselves. What we are doing to humanity as a whole. This constant mind clutter is causing our world to fall apart around us. It is time for humanity to wake up! Every individual must eventually wake up to life's true reality. That is the whole point to life itself. This awakening can only happen if the individual has had enough pain, enough anguish, and enough suffering to want to choose something different to experience. The individual then embarks on a different journey from what they are used to experiencing. This journey opens new undiscovered doors in life. They begin to experience life through a different set of eyes. Eyes that are not filtered through the labels of their conditioned mind. The individual begins to understand what and who they truly are.

For Mark Broom it all started in the summer of 89... Mark went on holiday to Tenerife and in the clubs they were spinning the now legendary acid house music. On his return to england Broom went on a search for this music... found it... bought some turntables and the birth of his musical career was born. After a few years of playing at peoples parties Mark decided to try his hand at making music. Through a friend he was introduced to Ed and Andy from Black Dog productions. Together they created Broom's first musical ideas. These ideas went on to be released on General Production records. The studio used for these first recordings was called uxb studios and was run by Dave Hill. After many visits to uxb Dave asked Mark if he would be into making some tracks together and from that day their musical and later business partnership was born. In 1994 they started Pure Plastic recordings which has played host to many of Mark's musical productions ranging from the landmark "angie is a shoplifter" lp through to the recent "rave days" ep.
Mark has also recorded on many of the worlds best labels including A13, Ifach, Speaker Attack, Mosiac, Dark House Music, New Electronica.
As a DJ Mark has spun at some of the worlds best clubs ranging from Belgium's Fuse club to Spain's La Real.
As a remixer Mark has had the pleasure to mix artists like Eddie Flashion Fowlkes, Ken Ishi, Ben Sims, Samuel l. Session, and the Advent to name but a few.
Mark is back again to demonstrate the definition of dub techno. "Deal or no Deal" is a purist release through and through that unashamedly harks back to the classic Chain Reaction and Basic Channel sound, something that the world and its DJs crave endlessly, and rightly so. All four tracks sail forth in calm warmth and steady bass, massive reverbs and echo are worked intermittently lifting everything upwards like a strong cosy breeze. The listener is forcibly bounced up and down in a gentle fashion, (we would expect nothing less than gentlemanly behaviour from Broomer) and through proper application of decibels a full cellular body massage can result. This is essential dub for the techno journeyman out there. Not only great to listen to, but also a helping hand with your exfoliation routine.
Club66 Records is a new underground electronic music label based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The label's aspiration has always been to seek and encourage the production of electronic music from the most talented artists, which ever corner of the globe they're from. Not to be limited by genre's we've already heard - some fantastic releases ranging from techno to progressive, tech and minimal house.
Despite the youthful age of Club66 they already boast a quality roster which includes among others Sinister, Lady K & Luca Daddi, Willian Pires and Ritym - who as already held the number one spot in the minimal charts here at BD with his mighty "Tecnicentro".
This week we're delighted to offer you minimalists a fantastic pre-release exclusive for you from Nicola Regattieri "WAB - What About Brazil" two slices of fine wonky minimal tech pie - get it whilst it's hot!!! Lovely!

They are making it hard on the working man
- By Mike Powell

I work in a sheet metal shop for a living. It can be very hard work at times. We supply all the metal pieces for our product lines at our plant. We make close to 30,000 parts a month. We have about 4 punch presses to make these parts running 3 shifts and most of the time up to 6 days a week. We all work hard for our money and our government seems to want every dime we get along with others. Greed is what is wrong with our country today. I have paid my taxes on my cars and on my motorcycle and today I get a bill for taxes on a boat that I don't own but was told by the tax office that I am responsible for that bill because the boat was in my name at the beginning of 2008, not 2009 but 2008. Now I am asking why should I pay taxes on Property that I don't own? I just had to pay the great state of South Carolina taxes from the tax year 2005 that I did not know I owed until November 2008. I have tried to keep my mortgage current and on time but with everything going on it is getting tougher and tougher. I am now looking at what else I can sell. Maybe I should just sell my transportation back and forth to work and give that up too. Wonder how many people would let me set up a tent in their yard. Probably none. Everybody seems to be so caught up in the money game we have stopped caring about our fellow man. There are too many people willing to kill over a few measly dollars. I personally am willing to sacrifice my life for the good of my family if that is what it takes for them to have a better life. People just don't have the money to do things anymore and until our government figures this out we will continue in a recession and maybe in a depression. Our money is gone from our 401 Ks. We are all on the brink of foreclosure. Our jobs are no longer secure. Our local hospital just layed off 200 workers, our school district is laying off 150 people and on company in our area is cutting pay on those who are still there by $3.00 an hour. Our homes have lost 40% of their value and all these people want is more money. Banks will not help you nowadays without a lawyer and universities keep raising tuition. Its hard on a poor working man who is the one who is suffering the most. While they have been living it up on Wall Street they are shutting down Main Street and all the backroads and everything else for that matter. Banks have been robbing Americans for years and so has our Government. Like I always say, Don't steal from the Government or the Banks, They don't like the competition.so much to say too little time

I have been working a lot here lately and for that I am grateful. While everyone else is laying off, I have been working 6 and 7 days a week. Our business is booming at the moment. I hope it stays that way. We have finally gotten some rain here in South Carolina but we could use more. We have not had what most of the rest of the south has had but it has been better than the last couple of years. I just hope it does not stop for a while. It is helping to replenish our water supplies for the short term. I wish Middle and southern Florida could get some much needed rain. Things are definitely looking up in that respect for the time being. I just hope other things will start looking up as well. I saw a sign in front of a Church the other day that really makes you think. It said "Forgiveness is Man's deepest need, and His greatest achievement." That statement is so true in so many ways. Blogging is fun and
Print-n-Post is a great site. Now my blog has moved. Admittedly, I seemed to
get more hits on my articles when posting them to Print-n-Post; however, it has
been great having my own blogger site.
I haven’t forgotten the team
of people on PnP. I still peruse the site on occasion. Now I have a greater
degree of freedom in expression. The blogger templates are wonderful. My site
has a black background. I find it easier to read. Google also provides cool gadgets
to enhance the site. I have picked out fun games for all of the separate blogs.
Working out a navigation
system on Print-n-Post took awhile. I regret taking the whole thing down after
working out an effective way of creating a link system. (It involved one blog link
to a link matrix in an article. This linked all of my related articles under
one heading. Each article linked back to the main article, which served as a menu
or hub. Each article may also include links to related material, such as:
referring to a book in an article about chakras. The articles about chakras
also linked to the book review. Then a person could gain a complete perspective
on the subject.)
I worry that anyone who
regularly read my blogs is wondering what happened. Probably only a handful of
people are wondering what happened, but I want them to be able to find the
topic of interest. Most of my blogs could be considered reference material. This
has probably caused a disturbance; however, I swear blogger is my main site
now.
It is taking awhile to get
everything back on the Internet. I am taking extra time to edit all of the
blogs and articles. I also decided to illustrate everything on the site myself.
A book review advertises a book; therefore, the author and publisher sell books.
However, artists and photographers make a flat fee. Therefore, their artwork helps
me make money, but what do they get out of it? It seemed unfair. Now all artwork
on the blog are drawn by me personally.
I hope everyone enjoys the
new site. The navigation is wonderful, even though there is so much work to do.
I had over 200 articles and blogs before moving to the new site, Naomie76.
