How to get your artwork noticed

I am a 23 year old art student in Victoria BC Canada. I enjoy artwork in all forms, but like to Paint and take photos the most. I am on my way to becoming a teacher so that i can teach young students how to refine their artistic talents.

Ever wonder how some of those new artists are discovered? Well there are many ways, but one of them is accessible to everyone, free and filled with artists just like you.
That website is www.deviantart.com Here you will discover a massive community of artist from every medium you could imagine. Artists from all over the world showcasing their artwork. You will be able to post any and all of your work free of charge. Deviant art will even make prints for you, take care of all the shipping and grunt work and give you a percentage, Totally free!
Many artists have been discovered on this website as well, The most recent was a young man that was picked up by Matt Groening (of Simpsons fame) whom hired the young man
to make a comic about the Simpson's done in a Japanese style. There are world famous artists on the site as well, concept artists working for gaming companies, comic book artists, Photographers you name it. This brilliant website even allows you to socialize with all these artists, you can seek comments, criticism and opinions on all your artwork or give it if you like.
If you are an artist without an online portfolio, this is your answer and best of all its free. If you are an existing artist this is a fantastic site to get in contact with other like minded artists, and maybe get discovered, you never know.
