I am a 23 year old art student in Victoria BC Canada. I enjoy artwork in all forms, but like to Paint and take photos the most. I am on my way to becoming a teacher so that i can teach young students how to refine their artistic talents.
I just wanted to make a quick blog entry to let everyone know that today is November the 11th Canada's Rememberance day. A day to remember all those brave souls that fought and died for our country. Please take a moment to read this poem by Lieutenant Colonol John McCraa (1872-1918) of the Canadian Army.
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
Please remember and honor our troops whom have fought, died and sacrificed for us in these horrible wars. Lest we forget.

There is a wonderful new song adaptation of In Flanders Fields by BC native Anthony Hutchcroft along with a stirring dance interpretation on YouTube. It appears to be one of the top viewed videos over a 2 week period. Take a look: http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=Ky2WKqmrnnI
