How old are you? Better yet, do you look your age? I will be the first to admit that I am terrible at guessing how old people are. Some individuals look ancient at age 35 and others young and radiant at 45. So much of this depends on your lifestyle. No, I'm not talking about pricey anti aging procedures like Botox and high-end spa treatments. Actually, you can maintain a young and radiant glow for quite some time. All it takes are a few simple practices.

1) Avoid constant sun exposure without proper sunblock. It should be at least SPF 15, and you must apply it every few hours if you're remaining outdoors. The sun's damaging rays are one of the most significant causes of wrinkles. It's amazing how many people still sunbathe. Didn't they watch "There's Something About Mary?"

2) Drink lots of water and hydrate your complexion from the inside out. Too much caffeine from soft drinks and coffee can have a negative effect on your appearance.

3) Adopt a healthy diet infused with plenty of fruits and vegetables. The nutrients and antioxidants are awesome for your skin.

4) Don't smoke! The nasty toxins in cigarettes damage your skin by decreasing elasticity and breaking down essential collagen. Your skin requires collagen to look young and healthy. That's why you see it in so many anti wrinkle creams and serums now days.

5) Stick
with a gentle, yet effective skin care regimen. Daily cleansing and moisturizing with skin care products that suit your skin type is great. It's wise to even begin as young as your teen years. This way you can prevent a lot of those lines from ever showing up. There's no need to wait until you're 30.

6) Regular exfoliation with a quality face scrub or mask is excellent for clearing away dead skin cells and allowing fresh ones to arise.

7) Avoid excessive partying! Yep, I had to go there. As much as many people don't want to hear it, it's the truth. Virtually everyone I know who was a party animal throughout college and their younger years looks quite a bit older and more haggard than those who didn't. Excessive drinking and staying up all night can have a detrimental effect on your overall appearance. Look at any rock star from the 80s and you'll see what I mean.

8) Finally, get 8-9 hours of sleep each night. This is crucial! Your body requires rest to look its best.

In the end, there's no doubt we all age. However, this doesn't mean that you have to look your age. Give these simple anti aging treatments a shot and watch your complexion improve. Also, you may consider giving one of the many anti aging creams a shot that flood the shelves of department stores and drugstores worldwide. Many of these contemporary topical anti wrinkle treatments work wonders!
