I haven't had many blog entries in the past few days because I have been adding articles. If you look through my profile of articles you will find one on patenting human genes and another on using animals in research.

My graduate education included a bioethics course in which I argued ardently with one of the professors over many issues. I was an older student than most of the others in the class and had first hand experience with many of the topics we covered. The whole point of the class was to force us to think through and develop our own thoughts and arguments, molded alongside our experience. It was extremely beneficial. Many scientists just go through their career studying and doing their work, not aware of the larger debates that affect us.

I hope that sharing my articles and thoughts can add to the dialog.
