I hadn't really planned to start any blogs on this website. My main goal in using this site was to hone my writing, especially as I have four small children running around providing every distraction a writer would not ask for during his work. However, with the accidental posting of "Perfectionism" incomplete, I thought to add a few words.
For writers, especially myself, perfectionism is a curse. I see the mistakes in nearly every article I read, in every signboard, in every advertisement. I see them, and feel them most profoundly in my own work. Given enough consideration, it might be cause enough never to put pen to paper, finger to keyboard, ever again. To do so, however, a writer's voice, mine, yours, anyone's would be lost.
Therefore, on this website I try to devote to hone my craft, to practice and persevere in my writing, not necessarily to perfect it. I shall leave "Perfectionism" as it stands, warts, misspellings and all.

I'm told that I'm verbally hyper. I'm not a perfectionist and I'm sure you can find grammar, punctuation and other errors in my stuff. I received a scholarship/grant for English w/emphasis in Creative Writing at a local University...I'm hoping the courses will make be a better writer.
I have my hands full but maybe not as much as you do. I write late at night or at the library because I have too many distractions at my house. |

I am more of a delayed perfectionist. Sometimes it takes awhile. Creating something to build off of it the first step and then edit it down into something better.
