The Best Part(s) About Being An American

I love the summer, Halloween, animals, chocolate and music. That is the basis of knowing me. I also like to write and travel a little.
I am not going to bad mouth any other country, but I love this one. As much as I would like to complain about this or that its just because I like to complain. Don't take this the wrong way anyone, but...
1. Freedom. Duh, the number one answer for most I guess. I could never live in a place where I couldn't say whatever (almost) is on my mind anywhere. I can go where I want when I want to and no one cares. You don't need a passport to go from one state to another. And while I'm talking about freedom let me get specific...
2. No arranged marriages. I doubt anyone would have picked Kenny for me, but we work out great. We get along most of the time and actually love each other. Some places aren't so lucky, and do they let people get divorced or not?
3. America likes to give away free food. For that matter we make a sport of eating. Sure other countries do too, but do they make a big deal out of it like we do? I don't think so.

Our football is different from everyone else's. When they say football, it means soccer. When we say football we think of tailgating in parking lots, painted chests and drunken idiots do whatever they have to to get on tv from their seat in the nose bleed section. Gotta love a sport like that.
5. Gas doesn't cost over $7 a gallon yet...
6. We made the Simpsons famous, and Family Guy, and a bunch of other not-so-kiddy cartoons. Who doesn't like a talking baby and dog with attitudes like that?
7. Budweiser is still owned by Americans. Is that the only beer company that still is? I'm not sure, but with the horses, and the dalmations and the frogs from the commercials how could it not be the greatest?
8. You can get tattoos and piercings almost anywhere. It's not just for criminals and bikers anymore.
9. We have a lot of holidays that are made just for partying or barbequeing or eating in some way and a lot contain sugary treats.
10. Our fairy tales are more non-violent than others.

Often I don't really think how much better things are here than in other places. They want to take away everyone's rights, so they can be cool like Europe. Being a United States Citizen in wonderful.
