What is the difference between the status options 'Draft' and 'Pending'?

The difference between the options is how they appear to an article editor/site administrator. The 'draft' option is normally used by authors who have submitted an article but do not want it published, or considered for publishing just yet. When they believe it to be ready they can change the draft option and it will just become a pending article, which means the author now wishes an editor or site administrator to review it for publishing
